Hello and welcome! My name is Sherri Johnson and I am a photographer in Los Angeles specializing in people and places. I've been super lucky to have a career that has been both fun and challenging.
My first job as a photographer was at the age of 17, when I worked at a children's portrait studio in the mall. There, I honed my skills in capturing smiles even with the most challenging subjects like large groups, toddlers, and pets. I attended Northern Illinois University to study psychology, art, and science. My favorite memories included photographing events for the university newspaper, taking horseback riding classes for a year, and traveling to China to teach English.
In 2008, I relocated to Los Angeles with a dream to photographing in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Since then, I've captured over 250 beautiful weddings in the Southern California area. While my weekends were busy shooting events, my real estate photography work kept me busy on the weekdays. I've always loved seeing unique architecture and meeting the fascinating individuals who live there.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I focused on diversifying my skills to include videography and I got a drone for aerials; my career propelled even further.
In spring 2021, I was recruited by CoStar Group to create media for Apartments.com and neighborhood content for the newly acquired Homes.com website. Within a few years, I achieved recognition in the top 1% of drone pilots worldwide and played a pivotal role in setting new standards for the growth of our photography department.
