The best thing about my job is that I always get to meet new people. A couple weeks ago, I attended a charity event for Wish Upon a Wedding and met Nicole who is owner and creator of lovesome (distinctively designed sweets, including chocolates and tea cookies). Lucky for me, she was in need of some great product pictures of her tasty treats. Earlier today, I visited her home as she hosted a tasting event. I was really impressed with the assortment of 20+ chocolates from Sea Salt Blueberry, Crushed Red Pepper and Cherry, and Spicy Pecan and Fig, to Rocky Road, French Lavender Sugar, and Toasted Almond Toffee. Nicole set up 4 different tablescapes to compliment her chocolates with decore, champagne and wines. If you’re looking for some great gift ideas or custom wedding favors, you need to check out lovesome!
Emme and Rick had a beautiful wedding this past weekend at Ponte Winery in Temecula, CA. Emme is a clothing designer and Rick a firefighter/ aspiring wedding photographer and together they have a sweet little girl who is almost three years old. Most of the family and guests traveled from Ohio to celebrate their destination wedding. Planning her wedding from out of state, Emme had to rely on her instincts with many details of her day. The first moment we ever met in person was when I walked in the door to her bridal suite and she was smiles all day long. The wedding was intimate and everyone danced well into the night. I’m so honored to have been part of this special day.
This weekend, I participated in my very first bridal show at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort. I’ve been meaning to do a bridal show for years now, but I’ve always been afraid. I’ve only attended a bridal show once in my life as a bride, and as a vendor I wasn’t really sure of what I was getting myself into. After extensive research I finally gathered enough courage to participate.
The largest part of my preparations were focused on working on my booth display. I ended up creating a simple setup with a few new canvas enlargements, brochures, a few sample albums, a slideshow, candy, and a giveaway. Overall the show went really well! Here’s some images from the show.
I was pretty lucky to have my booth right in the front of the ballroom, where the light was coming in from the windows illuminating my prints beautifully.
A big thanks to my assistant Dawn for helping me chat with brides and shooting some of these action shots. (Note to self, get new hairdo and get back on diet! lol)
One promotional thing I did at the booth was a giveaway for a Free Engagement Session with 11×14″ print (winners will be announced via email this week!) Details on the candy lollipops: I got them from Candy Warehouse, an awesome place to get candy in bulk if you’re planning something like a candy buffet at your wedding. They organize their website by colors, theme, occasions, etc, to make searching for what you’re looking for super easy! The heart lollipops I got were supposed to be cherry flavored, but I think they tasted more like cotton candy. Maybe it was the light pink color that threw me off. The small little tags hanging off were made from Black River Imaging, one of my favorite photo labs. They have the “itty bitty cards” that allow you to do a double sided design with the same design on one side, and multiple images for side 2. This would be cute for a wedding favor tag on anything small or maybe even as a holiday gift tag. (Note* I think BRI might be a pro lab only, but as a general consumer you can get the same things at moo.com)
As I walked around the bridal show, I really loved a lot of the other setups. I was inspired to snap a few extra pictures for the vendors, here’s some of my favorites. Below is Glow Concepts, they have beautiful linens, chair covers, fabrics, and invites.
Another booth with stationary, party decor and rentals was Love by Three Concepts. I really loved the idea of a welcome box they displayed, pictured on right.
I was introduced to Vanessa and Ephraim a week ago as they were wrapping up plans for their wedding. Since they were having a really hard time finding a photographer they loved… they were kinda stuck and running out of time. Lucky for me, their wedding planner Kat Keane passed along my info and they instantly felt we were a great fit! This past Thursday they were surrounded by their closest family as they said their vows and celebrated amongst the beautiful gardens. Here’s a few of my favorite pictures!
This past weekend I photographed a wedding with photographer Jason Redmond, that took place in Culver City at the Culver Events Center. The day started at the Huntley in Santa Monica. Here’s a handfull of my favorites!
