Julie & Travis’ Wedding: Long Beach Museum of Art

I’ve never been to a wedding before, were the number of guests wearing white, out numbered the bride 6 to 1.  Julie and Travis celebrated a sweet brunch wedding last weekend at the Long Beach Museum of Art.  Travis, the groom, is a pilot in the Navy and wore his dress whites.   A few of his military friends also wore the same, and everyone looked sharp!   This wedding had a couple of firsts for me, being a morning wedding as well as the first one of the year.  For some photographers, shooting in all natural lighting sounds easy because you don’t have to mess with lighting, but I took the opportunity to use a blend of all natural settings as well as fill flash.  I think it really helped some of the images pop, especially with the processional sword arch.  That might be my new favorite image of the year.

After Julie and Travis saw all of their images, I received a wonderful message from Julie that I’d love to share.

“Thank you so much for everything!  It was such a pleasure getting to meet you.  I am usually such a disaster and am so awkward in front of a camera and you magically got some amazing shots!  You were really, really awesome to work with and I hope that we get the opportunity to work with you again some time.  We feel truly blessed and so fortunate to have someone as amazing as you photograph our wedding.  The pictures are absolutely amazing.  Thank you for all the time you spent with us!” ~Julie & Travis

Yeah, my job is pretty awesome.  =)

Stephanie & Ryan’s Wedding: Huntington Beach

Today, I’d like to share Stephanie and Ryan’s beautiful wedding.  They got married this past Saturday at Sts. Simon + Jude Church, followed by a reception at the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach.  Stephanie would describe her wedding as “formal- beachy” with a bold black and white color scheme with dark purple accents.  Unlike most weddings, we started photography coverage at the ceremony.  The first time we saw Stephanie and Ryan was when they arrived just moments before walking down the isle.  My favorite moment of the day was when we got to spend some time one-on-one with Stephanie and Ryan at sunset.  We walked around downtown Huntington Beach with the urban setting and some creative lighting shots with the beach in the background.

Melissa & Greg’s Wedding Album Set

Melissa and Greg got married just a little under two months ago at the Long Beach Museum of Art.  Their wedding was a relaxed celebration with lots of personal details.  For their wedding album, Melissa went with a navy fabric texture and photo on the cover from their ceremony.  The size of the album is 12×12″ with thick matte pages that really help the colors pop.  Also pictured are 3 matching parent albums in 10×10″ for their parents.

Kaori & David: Long Beach Museum of Art Wedding

Kaori and David celebrated a beautiful summer wedding at the Long Beach Museum of Art last weekend.  The Long Beach  Museum of Art is one of my favorite spots for a wedding with the intimate setting, great view of the ocean, and rotating exhibits.  They are currently exhibiting “Architecture for Dogs,” with a lot of cool doghouses and dog themed paintings.  One of my favorite images from the day was the expressions on David and Kaori’s face during the ceremony.   There was a Despicable Me 2 blimp floating around and they happened to look up and have a priceless look on their faces.  These two are so easy going and such a great couple to work with.    It was such a pleasure to be a part of their day!  Here’s a review of my favorite images.
