Melissa & Greg’s Wedding: Long Beach

Melissa and Greg had a beautiful wedding in Long Beach this past weekend at the Long Beach Museum of Art.   I first met them back in March, as they described a “fun, beachy, and relaxed” wedding with a balance of colors of pink and navy with succulents and orchids.  On their wedding day, they chose to have a first look before the ceremony followed by formal pictures of their family.  I’ve photographed weddings at the Museum of Art a handful of times, and it’s always a challenge to do something new and unique.  For the first look, we found a beautiful spot in the lobby by the fireplace where the light was coming though the windows, overlooking the ocean.  Some fun elements of their evening included a photobooth and ice-cream (of which I had 2 helpings, guilty!).  To check out the progress of their album design click HERE.  Friend and family can see all wedding images online HERE.

Melissa & Greg’s Engagement: Long Beach

Melissa and Greg are Long Beach residents who love the outdoors.  They’be been together for 2 years and during a snowboarding trip to Tahoe, Greg proposed on top of a ski slope.  They are planning on an August wedding in Long Beach and wanted to celebrate their engagement somewhere local.  They chose some great spots as backdrops for their session, Shoreline Village and a beautiful park on Signal Hill with views from Catalina to downtown LA.  I had such a great time hanging with these two, and I’m really looking forward to their wedding!

Kaori & David: Long Beach Museum of Art Wedding

Kaori and David celebrated a beautiful summer wedding at the Long Beach Museum of Art last weekend.  The Long Beach  Museum of Art is one of my favorite spots for a wedding with the intimate setting, great view of the ocean, and rotating exhibits.  They are currently exhibiting “Architecture for Dogs,” with a lot of cool doghouses and dog themed paintings.  One of my favorite images from the day was the expressions on David and Kaori’s face during the ceremony.   There was a Despicable Me 2 blimp floating around and they happened to look up and have a priceless look on their faces.  These two are so easy going and such a great couple to work with.    It was such a pleasure to be a part of their day!  Here’s a review of my favorite images.

Long Beach Art Museum Wedding: Gina & Issy

Gina and Issy had a beautiful intimate ceremony overlooking the beach at the Long Beach Art Museum this past weekend.  Unlike most of my couples, Gina booked me for her wedding over the phone, without ever meeting me in person.  One of her first questions to me was if I have photographed an older couple before followed by her second question if I had ever photographed a Jewish wedding before….  After sharing some samples, she felt confident we were a great match and I’m so glad she did!   Gina would describe her wedding as “untraditional” with a mix of bright colors of yellow, blue, and pinks.  She wore a navy evening gown with crystal beading and Issy wore a suit.  Here’s some of my favorite pictures from their day!
